The Acton Climate Coalition comprises organizations, businesses, and individuals bringing bold and effective climate action to the Acton, Massachusetts community.

Current and future projects include:

Building with Clean Energy
The work that we started in 2021 to advance the Town’s ability to require clean, non-fossil-fuel energy in new buildings and major rehabilitation projects continued at the 2023 Town Meeting with the passage of Articles 12 and 13.

EnergizeActon.org
A way to get more households and building owners involved in reducing/eliminating their carbon emissions and advocating for climate action

Acton Clean Energy Coaching Program
Members of the coalition are working with the Town of Acton and Abode Energy Management to offer trained coaches to residents and building owners to learn about, plan for, and initiate actions for our clean energy future

Past Projects

For the Spring 2022 Town Meeting we worked on strengthening support for the Climate Action Plan: Mobilizing Acton’s Climate Action Plan: a better future starting now.

At the Spring 2021 Town Meeting, and again at the Spring 2023 Town Meeting, we successfully passed two warrant articles that advanced the Town’s ability to require clean, non-fossil-fuel energy in new buildings and major rehabilitation projects.

The Acton Climate Coalition formed in the Spring of 2020. Our initial project was to pass a resolution at the Fall 2020 Special Town Meeting — Declaring a Climate Emergency: A Better Future Starting Now

Members

Acton Climate Coalition members are organizations that support Acton’s 2020 Declaration of a Climate Emergency.

These organizations include houses of worship, small businesses, the offices of our state representatives and state senator, and many local non-governmental organizations.

The work of the Coalition is overseen by a Steering Committee. The Steering Committee consists of representatives from the member organizations who are able and willing to meet monthly to plan the work of he coalition.

Here is a visual depiction of all the member logos as of June 2024.

We also maintain a mailing list for people who would like to be kept up to date on the work of the Coalition. Just fill out this form
